Color therapy, also known as chromotherapy, is a noninvasive vibrational healing modality. It’s a holistic healing technique that uses the visible spectrum of color and light to improve a person’s mood, as well as mental and physical health. Every color of the rainbow falls into a particular frequency and vibration that affect the energy centers and frequencies (chakras) within our bodies and the electromagnetic field that surrounds our bodies (aura).
Each color has a different wavelength. Red has the longest wavelength while violet has the shortest. That’s why when we’re exposed to the color red, we feel energized, and when exposed to violet, we feel calm.
Who it Helps
Color therapy is used internationally as a complementary healing modality. It can be an effective treatment to alleviate physical, emotional, and mental disorders. A few of these are: SAD (Seasonal Affective Disorder), arthritis, skin diseases, newborn jaundice, asthma, digestive ailments and eating disorders, fevers, autism, and ADD/ADHD.
Color therapy is also used to regularize circadian rhythms, enhance creativity and learning abilities, and speed up the recovery process after an illness or operation.
This section was written primarily to teach parents how to holistically help their children, through the use of color therapy and other energy medicines. But in the meantime, you're going to learn a lot of great information about color that’s going to help you too. While the book focuses mainly on the therapeutic application of color, you’ll gain additional non-color knowledge to support your family’s health and wellness.
