Do Carrots Improve Your Eyesight?

Do carrots improve your eyesight? Yes and no! Carrots contain a high amount of Vitamin A, making them healthy for your eyes. The pigment molecule attached to the proteins in photoreceptors is called retinal. When retinal absorbs photons, it deteriorates in the process. In order to generate more retinal, our body needs Vitamin A. But I’m sorry to be the bearer of bad news: even though carrots are beneficial for the health of your eyes, they won't improve your eyesight, or let you ditch your glasses or contact lenses.
